Shumpei Kishi

I’m a Lead Solution Engineer at Acquia Japan, where I lead presales solution engineering for Acquia’s Drupal-powered Digital Experience Platform (DXP). I work with major clients across finance, pharma, manufacturing, and airlines to drive their digital transformation.

My career didn’t start in tech. I worked at Ueno Zoo, the Embassy of Japan in India, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before discovering Drupal development at Outcrop Communications in Canada. From there, I moved through CI&T (a Brazilian IT company’s Japan office) and Johnson & Johnson as an in-house SE, before joining Acquia Japan in 2019. I’m also a co-organizer of Drupal Meetup Tokyo.

As a bilingual professional fluent in English and Japanese, I bridge cross-cultural communication between clients and internal teams. Day to day, I deliver PoCs, workshops, and webinars — always finding ways to share technology through storytelling and demonstration.

When I asked myself, “What makes me, me?” — the answer was Sharing.
